Preparation Steps
  1. Toast the Pine Nuts: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the pine nuts, stirring frequently for about 2-3 minutes until golden. Remove and let cool.
  2. Prepare the Dressing: In a medium jar or bowl, combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, crushed garlic, maple syrup, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Shake or whisk until emulsified.
  3. Assemble the Salad Base: In a large serving bowl, layer a mix of fresh spinach and butter lettuce.
  4. Add the Fresh Fruits: Arrange blueberries and quartered strawberries atop the lettuce, evenly distributing them.
  5. Incorporate the Mozzarella: Tear or slice fresh mozzarella into bite-sized pieces and distribute over the berries.
  6. Finish with Nuts and Basil: Sprinkle toasted pine nuts and fresh basil over the salad and drizzle dressing before serving.
