- In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers and lower heat to medium. Let infuse for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Remove the pot from heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into another bowl or pot, discarding the hibiscus flowers.
- Put the strained liquid back on low heat and stir in 1 cup of sugar until fully dissolved, taking about 2 to 3 minutes. Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup of fresh lime juice, stirring well to combine flavors.
- Allow the mixture to cool for about 15 minutes before chilling in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Serve over ice.
