  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated Can omit or replace with nutritional yeast for vegan.
  • 1 tsp Dried Italian Seasoning Oregano and basil can be substitutes.
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika Smoked paprika can add a different flavor.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.
  • 0.5 cup Beef Broth Water can be used as a substitute.
  • 0.25 cup Milk, optional Omit for a lighter dish.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and heat for about 1 minute. Add ground beef, breaking it up, and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned.
  3. In the same skillet, add onion and garlic, sautéing for 3–4 minutes until the onion is soft.
  4. Layer the cooked beef on the bottom of the greased baking dish, then layer the sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and parmesan cheese over the potatoes, then pour beef broth around the edges.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until cheese is bubbling and top is golden.
  7. Let casserole rest for a few minutes before serving, garnishing with chopped parsley if desired.
