  • 15 ounces Ricotta Cheese whole milk recommended
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese softened
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese shredded
  • 1 large Egg lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
For the Pasta and Sauce
  • 12 ounces Manicotti Shells uncooked
  • 3 cups Marinara Sauce homemade or jarred
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or ground turkey/chicken

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Bring lightly salted water to a boil. Carefully add manicotti shells and cook for 3–4 minutes until pliable but not fully cooked.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper for 5-7 minutes until browned, then stir in marinara sauce and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  4. Pour ½ cup of the meat sauce into the bottom of the baking dish.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, Parmesan, mozzarella, beaten egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and dried basil. Season to taste.
  6. Using a piping bag, fill each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture.
  7. Arrange the stuffed manicotti in the baking dish and cover with the reserved meat sauce.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.
  9. Bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes, allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
