  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Make sure it’s softened to blend easily with other ingredients.
  • 3 tbsp Scallions Thinly sliced.
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder Enhances savory flavor.
Wrappers
  • 48 pieces Wonton Wrappers Keep sealed until using to prevent drying out.
Frying
  • Vegetable Oil Use enough to submerge the rangoons for frying.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat about 3 inches of vegetable oil in a deep frying pot to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, scallions, and garlic powder until smooth.
  3. Place approximately 1 teaspoon of cream cheese mixture in the center of a wonton wrapper.
  4. Brush the edges of the wrapper with water to seal.
  5. Fold the wrapper and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
  6. Fry sealed rangoons in hot oil for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove fried rangoons and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce.
