Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter in a small saucepan or microwave and pour it into your prepared baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup of whole milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, salt, and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon to the wet mixture and stir gently until just combined.
- Spoon the batter over the melted butter in the baking pan without stirring.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of brown sugar evenly over the top of the batter, then pour 2 cups of hot water gently over the entire mixture, taking care not to stir.
- Place your baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- While baking, mix together 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon for the topping.
- Once baked, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top and allow the cobbler to cool slightly for about 10 minutes before serving.
