Step‑By‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until well blended, then add the egg, vanilla, and applesauce, mixing until smooth.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix. Then fold in the diced apples.
  5. Using a tablespoon, drop batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them to allow for expansion. Bake for about 10 minutes.
  6. Switch the oven to broil and prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and apple cider until smooth.
  7. Broil the fritters for an additional 2-4 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Brush the warm fritters with the apple cider glaze, returning to the broiler for another minute.
  9. Remove and brush the remaining glaze over the top before letting them sit for about 15 minutes.
