Fruit Syrup
  • 1.5 cups Chopped Fruit Feel free to swap in any seasonal fruit like strawberries or peaches.
  • 0.75 cups Granulated Sugar Honey or agave syrup can be a healthier alternative.
  • 1 cup Warm Water Ensure it's warm for optimal mixing.
Cream Soda
  • Club Soda or Carbonated Water Try flavored seltzer for an extra burst of taste.
  • Cream (Half and Half, to taste) Replace with full-fat milk or coconut cream for a lighter option.

Equipment

  • medium-sized pan
  • tall glass
  • spoon

Method

Make Fruit Syrup
  1. In a medium-sized pan over high heat, combine 1 cup of warm water and ¾ cup of granulated sugar. Add 1 ½ cups of chopped fruit and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, stir for 1 minute, then lower the heat to simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Stir occasionally, allowing the fruit to infuse its flavor, then strain the mixture to collect the syrup and discard the solids. Allow the syrup to cool completely.
Assemble Cream Soda
  1. Once the homemade fruit syrup has cooled, grab a tall glass and fill it with ice cubes to your liking. Pour 4 tablespoons of the vibrant fruit syrup over the ice.
  2. Add club soda until the glass is ¾ full, creating a fizzy base.
Add Cream and Stir
  1. Drizzle in a splash of cream or half-and-half into the soda; adjust according to your preferred creaminess level.
  2. Use a spoon to gently stir the mixture, ensuring everything is well combined.
Garnish and Serve
  1. Consider garnishing your soda with a slice of fresh fruit or a sprig of mint on top. Serve immediately to enjoy.
