Preparation Steps
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together lukewarm milk, an egg, and melted butter until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, and instant yeast; mix well.
- Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients while mixing gently until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1.5 to 2 hours until doubled.
- Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thick and cut into donut shapes.
- Heat oil in a pan to 170-180°C (340-360°F); prepare a plate with paper towels.
- Fry donuts in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown; drain on paper towels.
- Whip heavy cream with sugar until stiff peaks form for the filling.
- Cut each donut in half after cooling, and optionally spread condensed milk inside.
- Pipe or spread whipped cream into each donut half and dust with powdered sugar.
