- In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of warm water with 1 tablespoon of sugar, then sprinkle 2 teaspoons of instant yeast on top and let it bloom for about 5-10 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Combine ingredients until a shaggy dough forms, then let it rest for a few minutes.
- Transfer dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Gently punch down the dough, and shape it into a loaf or round shape.
- Cover shaped dough again and let it rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Tent with foil if it browns too quickly.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
