Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Combine eggs, water, and oil with the cake mix, then blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly, and set aside.
  4. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until creamy and smooth.
  5. Add the melted butter, peanut butter, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  6. Gradually incorporate the powdered sugar into the creamy mixture, mixing on low speed until thick and fluffy.
  7. Dollop spoonfuls of the peanut butter filling across the surface of the chocolate cake batter, gently swirling it into the batter.
  8. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the top and bake for 40–45 minutes.
  9. Remove the cake from the oven and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
