  • 3 cups Potatoes sliced, Russet or Yukon Gold recommended
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese can substitute with mozzarella or Monterey Jack
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese omit for vegan option
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian Seasoning substitute with oregano, basil, or thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika smoked paprika for extra flavor
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or Water or vegetable broth for vegetarian
  • 1/4 cup Milk optional for creaminess

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sauté onions and garlic in the same skillet until onion is soft and translucent.
  4. Layer sliced potatoes, cooked beef, and sautéed onion and garlic in the baking dish.
  5. Add cheese and pour broth around the edges.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let sit for a few minutes, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve hot.
