Ingredients
  

For the Steak
  • 1 lb Sirloin Steak Choose top sirloin for tenderness.
  • 1/4 cup Mirin Or mix sake and sugar if out.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced; fresh for best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Grated; fresh or ground.
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil Or olive oil for a milder taste.
For the Vegetables
  • 2 medium Carrots Thinly sliced.
  • 1 medium Zucchini Chopped into half-moons.
  • 8 oz Mushrooms Button or shiitake.
For the Rice
  • 4 cups Fried Rice Use leftover rice for best results.
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce Opt for low-sodium if desired.
  • to taste Salt & Pepper Season to taste.

Method
 

Marinade and Cook
  1. In a bowl, combine mirin, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Cut the sirloin steak into bite-sized pieces and coat in the marinade, resting for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Wash and chop carrots, zucchini, and mushrooms. Sauté vegetables in a skillet with sesame oil for 5-7 minutes until tender.
  3. Heat the skillet over medium-high heat and add marinated steak. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until seared.
  4. In a separate pan, heat sesame oil and add pre-cooked rice with soy sauce and remaining vegetables. Fry for 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously.
  5. Assemble the bowls with fried rice as the base, followed by sautéed vegetables and slices of steak. Serve immediately.
