Step-by-Step Instructions for Oreo Brookies
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking dish with butter and flour or parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the milk chocolate chips and butter together in 30-second intervals until smooth. Stir in granulated sugar, eggs, egg yolk, cocoa powder, flour, vanilla extract, salt, and Oreo pieces.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract, then mix in baking soda, salt, and flour. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Spoon cookie dough across the bottom of the baking dish. Fill in gaps with brownie batter and optionally sprinkle extra Oreo pieces on top.
  5. Bake in the oven for 35 minutes, checking for doneness at 25 minutes. If necessary, cover with foil to keep the interior moist.
  6. Once baked, cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

Quality chocolate and cocoa powder are essential for the best flavor. Allow melted chocolate to cool slightly before mixing in eggs to avoid scrambling. These Brookies freeze well for up to three months.
