Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for 3-4 minutes until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix well, then pour in the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and salted caramel sauce until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop the dough onto baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each, and press additional chocolate chips on top if desired.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm but centers are slightly underbaked.
  8. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks and sprinkle with sea salt flakes.
