Ingredients
  

Beef and Seasoning
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
Vegetables
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced optional
  • 1 cup green onions, sliced optional
Sauce
  • 2 tbsp additional soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes for heat
Serving
  • 2 cups steamed rice or cauliflower rice
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
  • 1 egg fried egg optional for garnish
  • 1 tbsp cilantro for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if roasting vegetables. Gather your cooking tools: a large skillet, mixing bowl, and spatula.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the seasoned beef. Cook for 7-10 minutes, breaking it apart until browned and cooked through.
  4. While cooking, prepare the sauce by mixing additional soy sauce, honey, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  5. Add optional sliced vegetables to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Pour the sauce over the cooked beef and vegetables, stirring to coat evenly. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve the beef mixture over a bed of rice or cauliflower rice, topping with sesame seeds and optional fried egg.
  8. Garnish with cilantro and serve immediately.
