  • 1 pound Frozen Tater Tots Keep frozen until ready to bake.
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking Spray or Olive Oil Can use olive oil for a healthier option.
For the Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil Adds richness when sautéing.
  • 1 small Onion Finely chopped.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 tablespoon Sweet Smoked Paprika Essential for flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Hot Smoked Paprika Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Optional for extra spiciness.
  • 1 cup Tomato Puree Base of the sauce.
  • 1/2 cup Roasted Red Peppers Jarred or homemade.
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar Balances acidity.
  • 1 tablespoon Sherry Vinegar Adds tang.
  • to taste Salt Adjust as needed.
  • to taste Black Pepper Adjust as needed.
For Topping
  • 1 cup Shredded Manchego Cheese Or substitute with cheddar.
  • 1/2 cup Crumbled Bacon Optional for a vegetarian option.
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream or Garlic Aioli Choose your favorite.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley or Chives For garnish.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika For garnish.

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a mini muffin tin with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. Place two frozen tater tots in each muffin cup and bake for about 10 minutes.
  3. Once softened, press down the tater tots to form cup shapes and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  4. In a saucepan, heat olive oil and sauté onion for about 5 minutes until soft, then add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Add sweet smoked paprika, hot smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper; stir before adding tomato puree and roasted red peppers.
  6. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes until thick.
  7. Blend the sauce until smooth; return it to the saucepan and stir in sugar, sherry vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  8. Remove the muffin tin, fill each cup with shredded manchego cheese, and bake for another 2-3 minutes until melted.
  9. Drizzle bravas sauce over the tots, add sour cream or aioli, garnish with bacon, parsley, chives, and smoked paprika before serving warm.
