Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Gradually add all-purpose flour, mixing until the texture resembles coarse sand. Set aside about one-third of this mixture for topping.
  4. Press the larger portion of the crust mixture into the bottom of the baking pan and bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Prepare the filling by tossing sliced apples with ground cinnamon and nutmeg, then arrange over the baked crust.
  6. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce generously over the apples.
  7. Crumble the reserved topping mixture evenly over the apple caramel layer.
  8. Bake for an additional 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
