Step-by-Step Instructions for Korean Steak Sandwich
- Begin by placing the ribeye steak in the freezer for about 30 minutes for easier slicing into thin strips.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, gochujang paste, minced ginger, light brown sugar, rice wine, and minced garlic.
- Add black pepper, grated sweet apple, and sesame oil, stirring well. Toss in the sliced steak, ensuring it’s evenly coated and marinate for 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over high heat, adding a bit of oil. Add the marinated steak strips to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- In the same skillet, add sliced bell peppers and sauté on medium heat for about 2-3 minutes.
- Brush one side of each slice of thick bread with salted butter. Layer sautéed peppers, cooked steak, sesame seeds, cheese, onion, jalapenos, and scallions on the unbuttered sides.
- Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out. Cook each side for 2-3 minutes over medium heat until golden and the cheese melts.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise with minced garlic until well combined and drizzle this sauce inside each sandwich before serving.
