Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and a pinch of black pepper. Add diced chicken breast, ensuring it is well-coated. Allow the chicken to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, optional oyster sauce, a dash of black pepper, salt, crushed red pepper flakes, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Whisk until smooth to create the sauce.
- Place a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Once sizzling, add the marinated chicken, stir-frying for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
- In the same skillet, add a little more butter if needed and sauté 1 sliced onion and 2 minced garlic cloves for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Introduce the chopped cabbage, bell pepper, and julienned carrot to the skillet. Stir-fry these vibrant vegetables for 5-6 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet along with the prepared sauce. Stir well for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat all ingredients beautifully.
- Give your Chicken Cabbage Stir-Fry a taste and adjust the seasoning with extra salt or pepper if needed. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions.
