- Spray the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
- Chop one medium onion and layer at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place 2-3 boneless chicken breasts on top of the chopped onions.
- Whisk together BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
- Pour the prepared BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken breasts.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it.
- Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir it into the remaining BBQ sauce.
- Serve on hamburger buns with optional coleslaw.
